2019 Performance data

Reception GLD

GLD is a performance measure for EYFS pupils. Children are defined as having reached a good level of development at the end of the EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level in:

  • Early learning goals in the prime areas of leaning (personal, social and emotional development, physical development and communication  and  language)
  • Early learning goals in specific areas of mathematics and literacy
  • 66% of our pupils achieved the GLD in June 2019.

Year 1 Phonics

In year 1, all pupils take part in the statutory Phonics Screening test. This assesses the phonic understanding of pupils and their ability to decode words. Children who do not reach the appropriate standard are given targeted support in Year 2 and retests at the end of that year.

  • 83% of our pupils achieved the required level in June 2019
  • 81% of pupils nationally achieved the required level in June 2017

Year 2 KS1 assessments

Year 2 pupils sit the KS 1 SATs (Statutory Assessment Test) in reading and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers.

The tests are designed to assess progress and attainment of pupils to determine whether they are working at the expected standard for their age (ARE)

  • 77% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading
  • 63% of our pupils achieved ARE in writing
  • 70% of our pupils achieved ARE in mathematics

Year 6 KS2 assessments

Year 6 pupils sit the KS2 SATs (Statutory Assessment Test) in reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG) and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers. 

The tests are designed to assess progress and attainment of pupils to determine whether they are working at the expected standard for their age (ARE)

2019 Outcomes

  • 60% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, writing and maths
  • 67% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading (Average scaled score 100)
  • 73% of our pupils achieved ARE in writing 
  • 63% of our pupils achieved ARE in mathematics (Average scaled score 103)
  • 60% of our pupils achieved ARE in SPAG

  • -1.3 reading
  • 0.9 writing
  • 1.2 mathematics

In 2022

  • Y1 Phonics Screening Check - 73% of pupils passed

KS2:

  • Reading - 70% (National average - 74%)
  • Writing - 70% (National average - 69%)
  • Maths - 85% (National average 71%)
  • RWM Combined - 67% (National average - 59%)
In 2023
  • Y1 Phonics Screening Check - 68% of pupils passed

KS1:

  • Reading - 63% 
  • Writing - 57%
  • Maths - 73%

KS2:

  • Reading - 62%* (National average - 73%)
  • Writing - 76% (National average - 71%)
  • Maths - 79% (National average 31%)
  • RWM Combined - 55%** (National average - 59%)
